SIZZLE!

SIZZLE!

We are seeking artwork that sizzles in the heat of August: that burns or sears the eye or imagination, that punches with an extra dose of pizzazz or excitement. Open to all media, 2D or 3D, any interpretation of the theme. Artwork may have colors that sizzle or content that heats up. Any style, from realistic to abstract. Have fun! Submit artwork that provokes, challenges, illuminates!

This is an international, online exhibition. Submission by online jpgs. All work must be for sale. No restrictions on size. 50% gallery commission. Minimum sale price: $600. $18 for up to 3 images. Juried by a committee of Bromfield Gallery artists.

Please prepare carefully; no revisions are permitted after submission is complete. If possible, make the longest side no bigger than 1200 pixels, or 16 inches at 72 dpi. You may condense the jpgs as medium quality.

Deadline for online submissions: Wednesday, July 1, 2020 by midnight.

Notification: July 22, 2020.

Online exhibition dates: August 1 - 31, 2020.

BROMFIELD GALLERY

Founded in 1975, Bromfield Gallery is one of Boston's premier artist-run galleries. With an emphasis on New England artists, Bromfield shows contemporary art in all media, including printmaking, sculpture, painting, and drawing, as well as video, installation, and new media.

The gallery is located in Boston's dynamic SOWA district (South of Washington Street) in the South End, home to over two dozen contemporary art galleries and high-end furniture and design boutiques, as well as a number of fine restaurants. Nearby is the Boston Center for the Arts, which showcases visual art, cultural conferences, and independent theater companies. SOWA comes alive during each month's First Friday opening receptions.
